  • This special exhibition, Pungnap and Iseong, was prepared to commemorate the 66th Anniversary of Hanyang University.

Many Historical Sites from The Three Ancient Kingdoms—Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla—remain in the Han River Basin. Recent full-scale Excavation Surveys of these sites have yielded results that differ from those mentioned in Ancient Historical Records, sparking considerable debate.

This exhibition was planned to feature a large number of Artifacts from Pungnaptoseong Earthen Fortress and Iseongsanseong Mountain Fortress—which are considered representative sites of Baekje and Silla in the Han River Basin—thereby allowing visitors to confirm the cultural differences between Baekje and Silla through the relics.

To further aid in the distinction and understanding of the two cultures, the exhibition also includes comparative displays of Artifacts from Mongchontoseong and Seolseongsanseong (known as Baekje sites) and Achasanseong and Hoamsanseong (known as Silla sites).

Through this, we seek to promote a better understanding of the various scattered historical sites in the Han River Basin and, furthermore, provide an opportunity to more clearly define the Characteristics of the Mountain Fortresses of the Three Kingdoms Period.
