《CEMENT: MOMENT》 Exhibition-Linked Public Lecture <Cement Society> Session 1

The first session of the exhibition-linked public lecture <Cement Society>, held in the 3F Special Exhibition Hall of Hanyang University Museum as part of 《CEMENT: MOMENT》, will begin on Friday, September 13, 2024. 😊

<Cement Society> consists of a total of four sessions, including three lectures and one site visit. The program covers various topics, including the production and distribution of cement, tours of cement and concrete buildings used in modern and contemporary cultural heritage, and the current state of modern cement.

💡 In Session 1, we will welcome Dr. Kyunghwa Hong, the first scholar in Korea to present a doctoral dissertation on the history of cement, who will discuss “Cement Production and Architecture During the Japanese Colonial Period.”

Eligible Participants: Hanyang University students and staff, general public (site visit limited to 30 participants)

Lecture Period: Friday, September 13 – Friday, October 11, 2024, 2:00–4:00 PM

Lecture Location: 2F Kang Sung-hee Seminar Room, Hanyang University Museum (offline)

Notes: Session 3 on Friday, September 27, will include a site visit to concrete architecture in Seoul. The number of participants is limited to 30 and registration will be accepted separately (first-come, first-served). Recording, filming, audio recording, or distribution of lecture materials without permission is prohibited.
