This is the Hanyang University Museum 😊

The 14th Cohort Hanyang Museum Academy, titled Rival Log: A World History of Conflict and Creation, began its lecture series on Thursday, April 17 ✨

🏺 Lecture 1, “Eternal Rivals That Shaped the Fate of Ancient Greek Civilization – Athens vs. Sparta,” featured Professor Kim Heon (Institute of Humanities, Seoul National University). The session explored the intense rivalry between Athens and Sparta within the brilliance of ancient Greek civilization.

🏛 Lecture 2, “Rivals of the Ancient Mediterranean World – Rome vs. Carthage,” welcomed Professor Kim Deok-su (Professor Emeritus, Department of History Education, Seoul National University). Focusing on the Punic Wars, the lecture examined the fierce struggle for hegemony and the historical lessons embedded within it.

🎨 On Thursday, May 8, Lecture 3 will be held with Professor Yang Jung-moo (Department of Art Theory, Korea National University of Arts) under the theme “The Fateful Rivalry of the Three Giants of the Renaissance – Leonardo da Vinci vs. Michelangelo vs. Raphael.” Participants will explore the creative tension and artistic achievements of these geniuses who shaped art history.
