This is the Hanyang University Museum 😊
We are pleased to share updates from Lectures 7 and 8 of the 14th Cohort of the Hanyang Museum Academy, titled Rival Log: A World History of Conflict and Creation!
💭 Lecture 7 was presented by Professor Seol Min (Department of Philosophy, Sungkyunkwan University). Under the theme “The Shadows and Complexes of Philosophical Giants: Hegel vs. Schopenhauer,” the session explored how these two philosophers understood the world and compared their different approaches to explaining humanity and the universe.
🏡 Lecture 8 was led by Professor Kim Soo-jin (Academy of East Asian Studies, Sungkyunkwan University), titled “The Battle of Cultural Power Surrounding Villas: Kim Jo-sun vs. Yi Ha-eung.” The lecture examined the historical and cultural significance of villas in the Hanyang region and highlighted the political rivalries intertwined with these figures.
🎲 Lecture 9 will be held on Thursday, June 19, with Professor Kim Hang-bae (Department of Physics, Hanyang University). Under the theme “God’s Dice Game: Einstein vs. Niels Bohr,” the session will explore how these two scientists presented contrasting ideas in the field of physics.
The 14th Cohort of the Hanyang Museum Academy is now approaching its final lecture!
The 9th lecture will also include a completion ceremony, marking the conclusion of this cohort.
