[2025 Museum & Art Gallery Week] Exploring Artifacts: Vacuum Tubes – The Components That Opened the Digital Era
Hello!
This is the Hanyang University Museum.
Following the story about the person who created the artifact,
this time we will explore the features of our collection through “Exploring Artifacts.”
Today, let’s learn about the component that opened the digital era: the vacuum tube 🔎
______________
🔋 What is a vacuum tube?
A vacuum tube is an electrical device in which electrons move through a glass tube with a vacuum inside, driven by the potential difference between a cathode (-) and an anode (+), allowing electric current to flow. Vacuum tubes were used in early radios, televisions, and other devices, marking the beginning of advancements in electronics engineering.
