In the previous “Exploring Artifacts,” we looked at the features of our collection.

This time, let’s explore the remarkable development of computers after the Analog Computer.

💻 What did computers look like after the Analog Computer?

From the late 1960s, when computers began to be widely utilized, mainframe computers such as IBM, FACOM, and UNIVAC processed data using punched cards and magnetic tapes. Later, computers evolved into portable computers and quantum computers, gradually becoming more convenient and capable of handling increasingly complex calculations.

👥 How did the advent of computers change our lives?

With the development of computers, new professions such as keypunch operators and computer operators emerged. In the 1980s, computers were emphasized for educational purposes, ushering in the era of the personal computer. Today, as computers have evolved into AI, how will the relationship between humans and computers continue to change?
