Introducing Hanyang University Museum.
<Cement Society> – Public Lecture Series Linked to the Exhibition ≪Cement: Moment≫
Hello, this is Hanyang University Museum.
Hanyang University Museum is currently hosting the special exhibition ≪Cement: Moment≫, together with the project-based exhibitions “Cement Aesthetics Series II, III,” which focus on the material properties of cement from an artistic perspective.
Cement is used as a primary material in massive man-made structures such as roads, bridges, dams, and apartment buildings. Yet, despite encountering cement so frequently in our daily lives, how much do we really know about it?
Starting from this question, we would like to explore, under the title “Cement Society,” how cement exists alongside people in our contemporary society and in what forms it appears.
“Cement Society” is a program consisting of four sessions in total: three lectures and one field trip. It covers a wide range of topics, including the production and distribution of cement, a tour of modern and contemporary cultural heritage sites and concrete architecture where cement has been used, and the current state of modern cement. We hope that this lecture series will provide an opportunity to understand cement from multiple perspectives.
All sessions will be conducted offline, on site.
We look forward to your interest and active participation. Thank you.
